Stephen Myrick
OwnerPhotography has been a big part of my life for over Fifty years. My brother Bill gave me my first camera when I was in the Fourth Grade and I've been capturing images ever since. When I was in Junior High, I began assisting my dear friend Dave Christensen, with weddings and eventually printed many of his black & white wedding photographs. In 1969 I worked at Trend Studio for John Anderson, running the darkroom operations. After a stint in the Army and spending the Summer of 1974 touring Europe, I returned and began working for the Environmental Prediction Research Facility (EPRF) where I operated the photo lab and processed my first digital images. Myrick Photographic was founded on February 14, 1979 and I began buying and selling camera gear at camera shows and with ads in the old Shutterbug Ads magazine. It has been an amazing journey, and I have met some wonderful people. I have had the pleasure of serving many of the B&W photographers, many of whom called the Monterey Peninsula home. I have some wonderful memories of the laughs we've shared, the problems we've solved and the images I've seen my customers produce and still get excited to see new work from customers today. This April, after 32 years in the same building, we moved our storefront to a new location. As we downsized, it has been important to provide the same level of service, products and photofinishing services to our customers old and new. We look forward to serving you at our new location, with superb parking, soon!
